Station History

WFAM serves the Augusta, GA area with a population of 550,000. WFAM began broadcasting under the call letters of WHGI in 1978. In the 1980′s, the call letters were changed to WFAM representing family friendly radio. During this time WFAM began airing Gospel music along with teaching and preaching programs.

In 1997, Wilkins Radio acquired WFAM which continued the Christian formatted station and began airing 24 hour Christian talk programming. WFAM is considered one of the oldest Christian teaching stations in Augusta, GA.
